How we use your details
Your details help organisers respond to your enquiry and review material you submit. Sending a message does not add you to a mailing list.

Who to contact
This website is operated for Restore Britain's Bolton branch. Its promoter is Peter Cassidy. For questions about information submitted through this website, or to exercise your rights, contact Peter through bolton@restorebritain.org.uk. Postal contact: Suite 4, Millennium House, Gapton Hall Road, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England, NR31 0NL.
Existing reminder records
Public mailing-list signup and reminder sending are currently disabled. Earlier requests may have stored an email address, optional name, event choices, signup and confirmation dates and a consent record. Existing unsubscribe links remain available; contact the branch to ask about or remove your information.
Messages to the branch
Simply browsing does not create a contact or mailing-list record. If you submit the contact form, we save your name, email address, optional phone number, topic, message and any volunteering interests or availability so authorised organisers can respond. Providing optional information is your choice.
For new form submissions we ask for your consent to store and use the information for the enquiry (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), including explicit consent for any political opinions you choose to include (Article 9(2)(a)). We record the permission wording and date. You can withdraw permission through the contact above; this does not affect processing already carried out lawfully. Without permission, the form does not save your enquiry. You can contact the branch directly by email instead.
An enquiry does not add you to a mailing list, verify membership, or create an advertising profile. Please do not include sensitive information about yourself or other people that is unnecessary for the enquiry.
Photos you submit
You can optionally attach event photos to a contact message. We record your permission statement and the date you submitted them. Only share photos you own or are authorised to use, with permission from identifiable people for public publication on this website, including any political views the photo reveals. For identifiable children, obtain parent or guardian permission. Tell the branch about any credit or licence conditions.
Submitted photos are resized and saved as new JPEG images; original location and camera metadata are removed. The photos are stored privately with your message for authorised organisers to review. They are not automatically added to the public gallery. An organiser can copy an approved photo to a gallery draft and publish it separately.
We use your submission and permission to consider photos for the gallery and follow up with you. Organisers review publication permission separately. Published photos are accessible to anyone, including people who save or share them. The website and photo viewer display the branch's imprint; gallery download links provide copies with the imprint included in the image. Contact the branch to withdraw permission or request removal. Deleting the original message removes its private attachments; independently published gallery copies are managed separately and are included in the review of a removal request.
Access and service providers
Authorised organisers can access messages and existing subscriber records through the admin area. Anthony provides hosting and technical support and may need access to maintain the service. Data is held on the website server and its restricted backups. New contact notifications contain a link to the private enquiry, without copying the sender's name, contact details, message or photos into the notification.
Earlier email logs may contain message content and recipient details. Organisers review these alongside the original enquiry when handling retention or removal requests. When email delivery is enabled, the mail provider processes information needed for delivery. Replies sent outside the website are managed by the branch in its email account.
We do not sell the reminder list, use it to build advertising audiences or use it for automated decisions about you. This notice covers the branch website; following a link to the national party website or another service takes you to that service's own privacy arrangements.
Keeping and removing information
We keep subscription information while it is needed to provide your chosen reminders. After you unsubscribe, we retain an opt-out record to respect your choice and relevant consent or delivery records for handling queries. Unsubscribing stops reminders; it does not automatically erase stored messages, email logs or backups. Contact us to request deletion.
New contact-form submissions expire from the live inbox after six months, together with private attachments and linked notification logs. An organiser may record a necessary extension for an ongoing enquiry; completed enquiries can be deleted sooner. Older records are flagged for organiser review rather than assigned a permission record retrospectively. Published gallery photographs are reviewed separately when no longer relevant or when permission is withdrawn.
Restricted backups are retained separately for recovery, so deletion from the live site is not immediate erasure of every backup copy. Backup copies are used for recovery, not routine access; removals must be reapplied if a backup is restored. If an applicable obligation requires information to be retained after a removal request, the branch will explain the reason.
Cookies, videos and external links
We use essential cookies for form security and organiser login. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies or embedded video players. Our server retrieves and temporarily caches YouTube preview images without forwarding your IP address, browser details or cookies to YouTube. Your browser loads those previews from this website. Recordings, maps, membership and social links open the relevant external service only when you follow them. That service then handles information under its own privacy and cookie arrangements.
The server receives ordinary connection information, such as an IP address and requested page, to deliver the website and protect it from misuse. The contact form uses an in-memory rate limit of ten requests per IP address in ten minutes. Operational and security logs may record connection information; this is not used to build marketing profiles.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction or, where applicable, a portable copy. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent to reminders at any time. Contact bolton@restorebritain.org.uk; we may need to verify your identity before disclosing personal information.
If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
